Spring is just around the corner, and it’s time once again to register for Camp NoMoWheezin!
The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America California Chapter (AAFA-CA) was originally founded for the sole purpose of sending children with severe asthma to summer camp. Doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists volunteer their time to teach children how to manage their asthma, while they participate in outdoor activities that will not impact their breathing.
We’re excited to announce that AAFA-CA will host 2 weeks of Asthma Camp this summer at Camp Nawakwa in the San Bernardino Mountains. For LA County kids, Camp will run from Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 2013, and for San Bernardino kids camp will run from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 2013.

Camp NoMoWheezin’ was a great success in 2012! AAFA was happy to welcome more than 100 campers to enjoy swimming, the climbing wall, ropes challenge activities, basketball, arts and crafts, hiking, and asthma education in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Asthma Camp, for children ages 8 to 14, provides a week during the summer of fun and adventure. The camp promotes self-confidence and an understanding of ways to manage asthma through education. Boys and girls who have been diagnosed with mild to severe asthma are eligible to attend, and the camp is free, except for a $5.00 non-refundable application fee.
